Why this finder

Built for the reader who has tried every other book finder and still ended up on Reddit.

Series, sorted.

Results show where to start: standalones and book ones, with the series length and whether it is finished.

Spice, precisely.

A 1 to 5 scale that matches the one you already use, plus when the spice starts and how slow the burn is.

Hard nos stay hard.

Cheating, love triangles, cliffhangers, SA: rule anything out once and it is gone from every result.

Questions, answered

What is Romance Book Finder?

A free romance book finder. Pick your favourite tropes, the exact spice level you want and your hard nos (cheating, love triangles, cliffhangers, anything), and it recommends romance books that actually fit. You can also enter a book you loved and get more like it.

How do your spice levels work?

We rate every book from 1 (kisses only) to 5 (explicit and plentiful). The scale follows the steam levels readers already talk in, so a 4 here is the "explicit, several scenes, real plot" 4 you are used to. We also note when the spice starts, so you know whether you are waiting 400 pages.

Why do you only show the first book in a series?

Because nobody wants to scroll past book seven of a series they have never started. Results show standalones and book ones by default, with the series length and whether it is finished. You can switch that off in the finder.

Can I filter out content warnings?

Yes. Mark anything as a hard no (cheating, SA, dubcon, death of a loved one, cliffhangers, third-act breakups and more) and it is removed from every result. Content warnings on book pages sit behind a tap, for readers who like to go in blind.

Is it free?

Completely. When you buy a book through our Amazon links we may earn a small commission, which keeps the site running. It never changes what we recommend.
